Federal police officials caught nine running horses in Mammendorf, Upper Bavaria (district of Fürstenfeldbruck). According to a statement from the federal police on Thursday, the animals escaped from their paddock, which is located near a railway line, late on Wednesday evening. Because the horses could have walked on the rails, the route was closed for two hours.
The 31-year-old owner reported that the animals had escaped in the direction of the tracks. With the help of a police helicopter, federal police officers found the animals in a nearby wooded area. Their colleagues on the ground were finally able to catch the animals and bring them back to the paddock.
