Big shock for the resident of a house in Castrop-Rauxel: For reasons that are still unclear, a bus crashed directly into her home on Monday afternoon. At least two people were seriously injured in the accident, as reported by the Recklinghausen police headquarters. The bus driver had to be cut out of the vehicle and taken to a hospital, and a passenger was flown to a clinic by helicopter.
According to the police report, both the house and the bus were badly damaged in the collision. After going off the road, the bus collided with several vehicles parked on the side of the road before crashing into the house. During the rescue and recovery measures, the road had to be completely closed in both directions.
