A car crashed into a fence at the White House in Washington. The driver of the vehicle was arrested, the Secret Service responsible for the security of the US President announced on Monday. The incident is being investigated. The car drove into an outside gate of President Joe Biden’s official residence. He was not in the White House at the time of the incident.
Several security incidents have occurred around the White House in recent years. In 2017, an intruder got over the fence into the outdoor area of the presidential residence. He stayed on the premises for a good 16 minutes, but did not break into the building.
In September 2014, a confused ex-soldier managed to break into the White House armed with a folding knife. He climbed over the security fence and was only overpowered after he got through a door into the north wing of the building.
