The volleyball team at Dresdner SC suffered their second defeat in a row. After the clear bankruptcy in the east derby against Schwerin, the protégés of trainer Alexander Waibl also had to admit defeat at the Roten Raben Vilsbiburg with 0:3 (18:25, 22:25, 23:25). As a result, the six-time German champion also missed the chance to secure fourth place prematurely.
After a good start with a four-point lead in the first set, the guests fell behind more and more in front of 1491 spectators. The DSC team made too many slight mistakes in serve and attack. In addition, the Waibl protégés found no access to block and field defense.
In the second period, both teams exchanged blows at eye level for a long time, but in the decisive phase the Roten Raben proved to be more stable and more powerful in attack.
In the third round, the DSC women were already hopelessly behind at 13:23, but started to catch up again. With a serve series from setter Kveta Grabovska, the Elbe city team managed a series of nine points, but Vilsbiburg showed nerves of steel in the crunch time and secured their fourth win in a row after 85 minutes.
