She said yes immediately. When Hannah Herzsprung was asked if she wanted to play the character that once made her breakthrough again, she didn’t hesitate. But the doubts came almost as quickly. “Maybe I don’t like the old film anymore?” she thought. “Or I can no longer see myself in this role? And can I manage to allow this permeability again?” But there was no going back.
Director and author Chris Kraus’s project stood or fell with her commitment to once again play the musically gifted Jenny, known from “Four Minutes”, who is a drug addict and is in prison for murder. “The script and the financing depended on my casting – I was no longer replaceable,” says Herzsprung.
