A woman rolled over with a car in Gummersbach and ended up with the car on the terrace of a family home. The 41-year-old and her 42-year-old passenger were seriously injured, the police said on Sunday.
According to this, the woman first broke through a railing with the vehicle on Saturday on a sloping driveway, then rushed 50 meters through a sloping green area, drove through a hedge and finally came to a standstill lying on the roof on the terrace.
Neighbors helped the two people out of the wreck, it said. Rescue workers took her to the hospital. To salvage the car, it had to be lifted over the house with the help of a crane. It should be checked for a technical defect. According to the driver, the car’s brakes failed, a police spokesman said.
