Trump faced the New York judiciary on Tuesday. The 76-year-old Republican was driven from his skyscraper Trump Tower on famous Fifth Avenue to the criminal court in Lower Manhattan. After the identification service by the public prosecutor’s office, he entered a courtroom with a serious expression.
Trump had been indicted by a so-called grand jury for having paid hush money of $130,000 (around 120,000 euros) to porn actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election. The right-wing populist, who wants to run again in the 2024 presidential election, has rejected all allegations. He describes the investigation against him as a politically motivated “witch hunt”.
