The German national ice hockey team got their second win at the women’s world championship in Canada. The team won 3-0 against France on Sunday (local time) in Brampton. With a goal and an assist, Nicola Eisenschmid played a major part in the important success for the team of national coach Thomas Schädler. At the start, the DEB selection had won 6:2 against Sweden, then there was a 0:3 against Finland. With six points from three games, Germany are second in Group B behind the Finns.

The aim of the German selection is to leave two teams behind in order to safely avoid relegation. At least third place in Group B with five nations would also mean entry into the quarter-finals. The final group opponent is Hungary on Tuesday (5 p.m. / MagentaSport).
