The Schatzberg, located in Tyrol on the border between Alpbachtal and Wildschönau, is a place of longing. You can climb it in summer and slide down it on skis in winter. But for cyclists it remained an almost unattainable goal for a long time. The climbs are too steep, the paths too rocky.
If you wanted to climb the summit at 1898 meters by bike and enjoy the wonderful view up there, you needed the condition of a racing cyclist.
It changes. E-mountain bikes with powerful auxiliary motors have been around for a number of years, opening up completely new possibilities. Distant goals come within reach, and exhausting climbs become less terrifying.
