Two people in the Cochem-Zell district were seriously injured when two cars collided. A 19-year-old novice driver lost control of her vehicle early on Wednesday evening on the L108 between Brohl and Treis-Karden for reasons that have not yet been explained and collided with an oncoming car, the police said late in the evening. Both those involved in the accident were seriously injured in the collision and taken to nearby hospitals, it said. The L108 was closed for almost two hours due to the vehicle recovery. The investigations are ongoing.
