The winter swimmers of the Rostocker Seehunde association ended their season on Sunday with a swim. Around 100 guests from all over Germany and Denmark took part, said the chairman, Dietmar Marquardt. The rescue tower will be cleaned up on Monday. The association organized the Abbaden for the 28th time, the association has existed for 35 years. “It’s something special,” said Marquardt about winter bathing. With a water temperature of 8.6 degrees, the Baltic Sea was quite cool on Sunday morning, but at least warmer than the air at 6.0 degrees.
