Two people were seriously injured in clashes with wild animals in the north-east over the long May Day weekend. As a police spokesman said, a motorcyclist collided with a deer on Monday with her machine on federal highway 191 near Eldena (Ludwigslust-Parchim). The biker fell and was taken to a clinic in Schwerin with serious injuries. The B191 was temporarily blocked between Eldena and Karstädt in Brandenburg (Prignitz district).

On Sunday, a 28-year-old driver of a four-wheel motorcycle – a quad – also collided with a deer between Ivenack and Ritzerow (Mecklenburg Lake District) and was seriously injured. He had collided with a deer in the morning with his vehicle at dusk and then drove into a tree. The vehicle was then thrown back onto the road and caught fire.

The driver was flown to a hospital with a rescue helicopter, there is no danger to life. When the accident was recorded, it turned out that the man did not have a license to drive the quad, which was completely destroyed. In the north-east, the police regularly warns of wildlife accidents, since the sparsely populated south of MV between Ludwigslust-Parchim, Mecklenburg Lake District and Western Pomerania and the north of Brandenburg are particularly natural and rich in wildlife.
