A 24-year-old died of a gunshot wound in Lüdenscheid, North Rhine-Westphalia. Two suspects aged 15 and 18 were arrested, said a spokesman for the Märkischer Kreis police force. The young man initially suffered life-threatening injuries and later died in hospital, a statement said. According to the police, witnesses had alerted the emergency call on Monday afternoon and reported an injured person in a pedestrian underpass.
The two suspects were found near the crime scene. A homicide commission took over the investigation. The police are looking for further evidence, the murder weapon has not yet been found. The background to the crime was still unclear in the evening.
