Soccer goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is apparently doing well through his rehabilitation period. According to information from the TV broadcaster Sky, the 37-year-old professional from FC Bayern should return to the training ground in two to three weeks.
There, Neuer should start with the first goalkeeper-specific exercises and easy running training. He wants to get into full team training in July, when preparations for the new season begin.
Most recently, Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel reported on Neuer’s progress in rehabilitation. “It’s a great pleasure to watch Manu in rehab. It’s progressing every day,” said Tuchel. “I think that Manu – I’m 100 percent sure – wants to know again. Now we’ll just wait and see and encourage him on the way. He’s our captain and that of the German national team. You can’t forget that. That shows a great personality in German sport.”
Neuer has been out for months because of his broken leg after a ski tour following the preliminary round at the World Cup.
