After the relativization of his media criticism, national soccer player Leon Goretzka spoke up in detail and campaigned for fair treatment of one another.

“Let’s discuss topics critically, let’s scold, but let’s all exaggerate a little less, both positively and negatively,” wrote the 28-year-old FC Bayern Munich professional on Instagram. “The black-and-white thinking has been going against the grain for quite some time.”

After FC Bayern’s 2-0 win at Hertha BSC, Goretzka criticized the reporting of the German record champions. “Players are completely destroyed in the media. It certainly doesn’t help,” said the midfielder. He later qualified the criticism. “Emotion and anger after the game grab me too. My statement yesterday after the game was undifferentiated and not correct,” he wrote on Instagram.

The criticism of the team after the end of the DFB Cup and the Champions League was “justified”, admitted Goretzka, but added: “The truth is not only on the pitch, but sometimes also in the middle. And often It’s the little things that make you lose your step.” The public assessment is often “too quick”: “After advancing against Paris, we were suddenly the best squad of all time, now we are only a shadow of ourselves despite being at the top of the table.”
