A dead woman found on a sandbank in the Wadden Sea in Lower Saxony on Monday is a woman who has been missing for six weeks. An autopsy confirmed the identity of the vacationer from Braunschweig who had been missing since May 19, the police in Cuxhaven said on Friday.
She had disappeared after a holiday in Cuxhaven and a trip on the Wattenwagen to the island of Neuwerk. On Monday, the police were anonymously reported to have found a body on the Hoher Knechtsand sandbank on the Outer Weser. According to the information, there is no evidence of a violent crime.
