The police deployed to Mölln (Ratzeburg district) in Schleswig-Holstein on Monday morning for a large-scale operation with special forces at a vocational school. The officials announced this on X, formerly Twitter.

According to “Lübecker Nachrichten”, an armed person was seen on the grounds of the school center. The police cordoned off the area, including officers from a special operations team. According to police, the students locked themselves in the classrooms. They should be brought to safety by the police as quickly as possible.

“The situation is currently unclear,” said the Ratzeburg district administration. “Parents of affected students are asked not to make their way to school in order to keep paths clear for emergency vehicles. The city of Mölln has set up a meeting point for parents in the town hall.” A telephone hotline was also set up.

Around 1,000 trainees from a wide range of professions attend the vocational training center in the city of 20,000 residents.
