The 96th edition of the Academy Awards is coming up soon – on the night of March 10th to 11th, to be precise. In order to bring the Oscars to the lucky winners, there will once again be numerous and well-known laudators this year. In the meantime, the first wave of stars who will be given this important task has been announced on the event’s official homepage.

It is customary at the Oscars for the four winners in the acting categories to present a golden boy. 2024 is no exception, so viewers can look forward to appearances from Brendan Fraser (award-winning for “The Whale”) as well as Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis (all accolades for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”).

The other laudators also include Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicolas Cage, Al Pacino and Zendaya, who is currently on everyone’s lips, not least thanks to her impressive performances during the theatrical release of “Dune: Part 2” (February 29th). Also listed: Mahershala Ali, Jessica Lange, Matthew McConaughey, Lupita Nyong’o and Sam Rockwell.

Actors Zazie Beetz (“Joker”) and Jack Quaid (“The Boys”) announced this year’s nominations for the world’s most important film award on January 23rd. With 13 entries, Christopher Nolan’s drama “Oppenheimer” about the eponymous “father of the atomic bomb” has the most chances. “Poor Things” by Giorgos Lanthimos and “Killers of the Flower Moon” by veteran Martin Scorsese follow “Oppenheimer” with 11 and 10 nominations.

Germany is also worried thanks, among other things, to Sandra Hülser (leading actress in “Anatomy of a Case”) and “The Teacher’s Room” (Best Foreign Language Film). Like last year, the Oscars will be presented by comedian Jimmy Kimmel.
