A 36-year-old died while felling trees near Annaburg (Wittenberg district). According to initial findings, the man was standing on a ladder when a branch hit him in the head, the police announced on Friday. He tried to cut a fork of a branch from the tree with a chainsaw. He is then said to have asked three colleagues to pull a tension strap on the branch.

However, the branch then hit the 36-year-old on Friday morning. The man was so seriously injured that he died at the scene of the accident. The police are now investigating the exact cause of the accident.
