Holstein Kiel is getting closer and closer to the first Bundesliga promotion in the club’s history. The second-placed team in the 2nd Bundesliga won 1-0 (0-0) against Karlsruher SC and extended its lead over the relegation place to five points.
After several wasted chances, Lewis Holtby rewarded a strong Kiel performance with the opening goal in the 57th minute. The former first division and England professional scored with a deflected long-range shot.
