Fire brigade operation: Woman dies in apartment fire in Wertheim

A woman died in a fire in an apartment in Wertheim (Main-Tauber district). Five other people from surrounding apartments were taken to hospital on Monday morning with suspected smoke inhalation, police said. A total of 20 residents were brought to safety as a precaution. The fire department prevented the flames from spreading to neighboring apartments. According to investigators, the cause of the fire was initially unclear.
