FC Barcelona has reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League. With German national soccer players Marc-André ter Stegen and Ilkay Gündogan in the starting line-up, Barça beat SSC Napoli 3-1 (2-1) in the second leg of the round of 16 on Tuesday evening. In the first leg in Italy, both teams drew 1-1.

Fermín López (15th minute), João Cancelo (17th) and Robert Lewandowski (83rd) scored the goals for the hosts. Amir Rrahmani (30th) scored the next goal for the Italians.

Barcelona were the better team for long stretches and started the game strongly against the Italians, who were struggling in the league. With a double strike within two minutes, López and ex-Munich Cancelo gave the hosts the lead. Ter Stegen in goal initially had nothing to do – until Rrahmani suddenly equalized.

But even after the break, Barça remained dominant for long stretches. After a fine combination via Gündogan and Sergi Roberto, Lewandowski finally scored the winning goal.
