The volleyball players from SSC Palmberg Schwerin have overcome the last hurdle before the playoff final for the German championship against defending champion Allianz MTV Stuttgart. The record champion beat SC Potsdam on Saturday evening in the second of a maximum of three semi-final games with 3:1 (25:19, 25:23, 22:25, 25:15) and thus made it 3:1 in the opening duel last Wednesday they made it into the final perfectly.

Stuttgart had also previously prevailed against Dresdner SC in two matches. The final series will be played in a “best of five” format. The first game will take place on April 13th (5:10 p.m.) in Schwerin.

Things looked bad for Schwerin at the start of the second game in Potsdam. Coach Felix Koslowski’s team fell behind 0-4 in the first round, but then found their way into the game better and achieved a clear set win. The second round was almost even for long stretches until the SSC took a 24:22 lead in the final phase and also won this set.

Potsdam then successfully defended itself against the threat of elimination and won the third round. The SSC was not deterred by this. The Koslowski team quickly led 6-1 in the fourth period, then moved ahead to 19-9 and finally ended the game with the first of nine match points.
