In the middle of the summer travel season, fuel prices in Germany continue to rise. E10 premium petrol has now reached a new high for the year, as announced by the ADAC. In the nationwide daily average on Monday, the fuel came to 1.852 euros per liter. That is 6.4 cents more than at the beginning of July. The diesel price was 1.717 euros, which is not a high for the year, but the increase since the beginning of July is drastic at 11.4 cents.

The ADAC sees the oil price, which rose in July, as one of the price drivers. However, the increased demand for fuel due to summer travel should also play a role, it said. In principle, however, the price level has “been significantly inflated for a long time”. It is a little cheaper to fill up on the evening before the holiday trip – then the prices at the gas stations are usually several cents lower than in the morning.
