The Dax recovered well from its recent losses on Wednesday. After opening on Xetra, the leading German index gained 0.93 percent to 15,922 points, bringing the round mark of 16,000 points closer again. The day before, the barometer had fallen below important supports to almost 15,700 points.

The MDax for medium-sized companies rose by 1.2 percent to 28,246 points in the middle of the week. The Eurozone leading barometer, the EuroStoxx 50, was also up 1.1 percent. Once again, weak economic data from China left hardly any traces in this country on Wednesday.

On Wall Street, after a very weak start after the end of European trading, there was at least a certain stabilization the day before. The indices still closed clearly in the red, but at their daily highs.
