A fire in a barbecue hut in Ganderkesee (Oldenburg district) caused damage of several thousand euros. No one was injured in the fire early Sunday morning, police said. According to the police’s current knowledge, a fire was not properly extinguished, causing firewood to ignite near the fireplace. The flames then jumped over to the wooden grill hut. The building was closed due to a risk of collapse. The police estimate the damage at 30,000 to 40,000 euros.
