Indians for Collective Action (ICA), a Bay Area-based nonprofit dedicated to serving marginalized communities in India, recently held its annual event in Palo Alto on October 6. The event, which attracted around 250 guests, centered around the theme of “Transforming to a Healthier World”. Guest speakers Ashish and Kavita Satav shared their experiences of providing healthcare to marginalized communities in India through their organization, the Mahan Trust.

Consul-General K. Srikar Reddy delivered a keynote address at the event, emphasizing the importance of collective action in bringing about positive change. Entrepreneur and philanthropist Michal Moritz engaged in a fireside chat, discussing his nonprofit Crankstart’s efforts to support underserved communities in San Francisco. A panel discussion moderated by ICA Marketing Head Namita Maunder shed light on the significance of mental health in various fields such as AI, medicine, and family therapy.

During the event, ICA President Prakash Agarwal revealed a $10 million fund that will further the organization’s mission of providing humanitarian aid and empowering communities in India. Additionally, a total of $150,000 was raised throughout the evening to support ICA’s initiatives.
