Sankara Eye Foundation (SEF), USA is excited to host its annual SEF Dandia Extravaganza, a popular event in Northern California. This weekend, over 6,500 people are expected to attend the grand dandia event at two locations – the Santa Clara Convention Center on October 5th and the Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton on October 6th.
Attendees will have the opportunity to dance to live music by Preetysha and Sameer and take part in the Mataji ki Aarti with diyas provided by SEF. Sonal Solanki, a member of the SEF, USA Executive Committee, described the experience as beautiful and divine. Singing the aarti together with a ‘diya’ in hand symbolizes bringing light into the lives of those who are needlessly blind.
For those unfamiliar with the garba steps, dandia sticks will be available for purchase, and volunteers will be on hand to teach the dance. Additionally, there will be a supervised section for children, allowing families to enjoy the evening together.
SEF, USA has a significant cause behind the event – to give the Gift of Vision. Since 1998, they have conducted over 3.4 million free surgeries and are working towards their Vision 2030 goal of providing one million free eye surgeries annually by 2030. By purchasing tickets to the SEF Dandia Extravaganza in Santa Clara and Pleasanton, attendees will be contributing to this impactful cause.
In addition to enjoying a night of dancing and music, participants can feel good knowing that their presence supports a mission to help underserved communities in India and beyond. Join SEF, USA this weekend for a celebration that truly makes a difference.
