Milwaukee first baseman Rhys Hoskins activated 3 days ahead of visiting former team in Philadelphia
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee first baseman Rhys Hoskins made a triumphant return on Friday, being activated three days earlier than expected before the Brewers face off against his former team in Philadelphia. The anticipation was high as he was immediately placed in the lineup as a designated hitter for Friday night’s game against the Chicago White Sox.
Hoskins had been sidelined since May 14 due to a right hamstring strain, but he is back in action with a batting average of .223, nine home runs, and 27 RBI. The fans are eager to see him back on the field and hope he will continue to deliver strong performances.
In a corresponding move, infielder-outfielder Owen Miller was optioned to Triple-A Nashville to make room for Hoskins on the roster. The Brewers are looking forward to having Hoskins’ power hitting and defensive skills contribute to their lineup.
Having spent the first six seasons of his career with the Phillies, Hoskins has a deep connection to Philadelphia. In 2022, he showcased his talent by hitting 30 home runs and driving in 79 runs. Unfortunately, he had to sit out the entire 2023 season due to a left ACL tear, but now he has the opportunity to shine once again with the Brewers.
Milwaukee is set to begin a three-game series against the White Sox, followed by a highly anticipated three-game showdown in Philadelphia starting on Monday. Fans on both sides are eager to see how the reunion between Hoskins and his former team unfolds, making it a must-watch series for baseball enthusiasts.
