Architectural firm Henning Larsen has been sold to engineering and consultancy firm Ramboll for the secret amount.

The Danish architect Henning Larsen, who is known for having designed the Opera house in Copenhagen, denmark and the Moesgaard Museum in Aarhus, has been acquired by Ramboll.

This was stated by the two companies on Monday.

Ramboll is a Danish engineering and consultancy firm with more than 16,000 employees, which engulf Henning Larsen with approximately 300 employees.

the Deal is subject to confidentiality, so companies keep the price of Henning Larsen secret.

Henning Larsen has so far been owned by the 17 partners, while Ramboll is the foundation-owned

the Goal of the merger is to strengthen both companies and, especially, to be stronger abroad.

– to be able to take the next big step in the field of sustainable architecture we need more muscles, ” says Mette Kynne Frandsen, who is the director and co-owner of Henning Larsen.

– We must recognize that we are too small to be big, but also too big to be small.

– By being a part of Ramboll we get the opportunity to be able to bid on the really big tasks, which require multi-disciplinary knowledge, she says.

Ramboll ceo, Jens-Peter Saul, sees the acquisition as an opportunity to be able to bid on several exciting projects.

Henning Larsen continues to operate under its own name, when the deal is dropped in place.

There is, according to Mette Kynne Frandsen from Henning Larsen has not Trbet paid up to cuts in the workforce, as it is otherwise often seen by major mergers.

– There is not at all put up for the reductions. We only see the synergies, which will create growth, and therefore, there is room for all. This is an extension of the Henning Larsen, says Mette Kynne Frandsen.

Henning Larsen has seven offices in Copenhagen, Oslo, Faroe islands, Munich, Istanbul, Riyadh and Hong kong.
