Airline SAS heralds, that the cost in 2023 must have been dropped by a billion.

the Airline SAS have been through several sparerunder through the years, and the exercise is going to continue in the future.

It informs SAS Thursday in its financial statements for the 2018/2019, which offered the lowest profits in five years.

concretely, the SAS save 1.5 to 2.0 billion Swedish kronor forward to 2023 using a number of different actions. This corresponds to 1.1-1.4 billion Danish kroner.

A large part of the money is expected to come by a replacement of the old aircraft.

SAS is started to replace its Boeing aircraft with aircraft from Airbus, in the long term, should be the only brand in the fleet.

The new planes use less fuel, and a uniform fleet of aircraft will also mean lower maintenance cost.

in Addition, there must be savings by simplifying the SAS administration – including by the use of more digitization and automation. It may cost jobs but there are not taken final decisions yet.

the SAS will also improve its planning through a new system that will be up and running in 2022.

It must ensure that the aircraft is being utilized the best way possible and is at least possible on earth – and that the pilots and flight attendants are vagtsat most optimally.

SAS explains the savings with that there is tough competition.

– We are an industry where we must continuously improve to ensure that we keep pace with competitors.

– It comes we also have to continue with in the future, says Simon Pauck Hansen, who is the director of SAS in Denmark.

At Sydbank points aktieanalysechef Jacob Pedersen, who follows the industry closely, that the ongoing savings are vital to be able to cope.

– It is a changing industry with great competition, and labor costs fill very much.

in the latest quarter is SAS’ expenditure on wages increased by 150 million crowns.

– If you have to compensate for it and continue to offer cheaper tickets, then you have to save, says Jacob Pedersen.
