The Embassy of Russia in Spain tried this Friday ridiculed the open research in the National court by the alleged presence in Catalonia of spies in the Russian Army after revealing THE COUNTRY new data on trips to Barcelona from suspected agents of the Unit 29155. “In relation to the relentless work of researchers of THE COUNTRY to discover the origins of the crisis of Catalan in Russia, we would like to draw your attention on a fact developer”, they say in a tweet released on the profile official of the legation diplomatic in Spain.

At least three of its members were detected in Catalonia between November 2016 and December 2017, according to the data obtained by this newspaper together with the network of investigative journalists Bellingcat and Civic Media, a foundation that is linked to this. This is the general Denis Serguéiev, alias Sergey Fedótov, that moved on two occasions to Catalonia; and the agents Alexey Kalinin and Michael Opryshko.
Moscow has repeatedly refused the presence of their agents in the cases investigated by western intelligence. From his involvement in the poisoning in march 2018 of the former Russian spy Sergey Skripal on british soil, where members of his military secret service (known as GRU) were identified, the hacking of the World anti-Doping Agency, with headquarters in Switzerland. Also they have been involved with a coup attempt in Montenegro, the attempted murder of a manufacturer of weapons Bulgarian and a destabilization campaign in Moldova.
