The low production of cereals and wine by the drought and the low prices of fruits and the olive oil sank, the agricultural income in 2019. According to the first data developed by the Ministry of Agriculture, the income registered a decline of 8.6% to 26.179 billion euros, putting an end to a period of rising five years. Even so, Agriculture stresses that it is the second income highest of all the European Union, just behind France which also suffered this year, a fall of 8.3%.

In cereals, the drop was due to the smaller crop and prices stagnant; in wine to the lowest harvest of only 38 million hectoliters; in fruit and citrus to the low prices; in olive oil also falling of quotations considering that, for the purposes of the income, are not computed by the low harvest this year of just 1.3 million tons, but the record harvest of the previous campaign of 1.8 million tonnes.
In the case of livestock productions, mastered the stability in production and prices down in the poultry-laying and meat. The pig is the exception where increased production and prices for the sale to other eu countries like France, Italy or Portugal and in third countries, which includes China.
expenditure on means of production registered an increase of 3.6% to 24.173 million euros with price rises in the fertilizers 6.6%, from 3.1% in feed, and of 3.1% in services, down from 3.3% in energy and 1.3% in seeds. The subsidies increased by 0.6 per cent to 6.427 million euros, equivalent to 24.5% of the rent.
