After months off, the football championships will resume at the end of August. In a notice posted online Saturday, 23 may, the French League of professional football (LFP) announces that it has set August 23, the resumption of the League 1 and August 22, the resumption of League 2. This decision was taken Wednesday, during a board of directors of the LFP. The latter specifies that these dates are still provisional, since the UEFA should make announcements on the european competitions during the next executive committee scheduled for 17 June.

Recovery of the Budesliga and la Liga
The 30 April, after having entered the final judgment of the fiscal year 2019-2020, the executive director general Dider Quillot had indicated that the League wanted to start the next season “at the latest” on 22 and 23 August. Among the major championships in Europe, France is the only one where the end of the season has been recorded permanently on the orders of the government. The Bundesliga resumed last weekend and the League is expected to restart in the week of 8 June. Discussions are continuing in Italy and England.

According to the minutes of the League, ” the programming of the final of the League Cup and Coupe de France is still waiting for more accurate information from the government to consider the terms and conditions of their organizations.”
