Two days after the discovery of a dead 14-year-old, the investigation is continuing in Bad Emstal (Kassel district) in northern Hesse. A police spokesman said this on Saturday. However, he did not give any further details, citing the public prosecutor’s office.
Dozens of candles and police tape could still be seen on Saturday on the dirt road in Bad Emstal, where the woman’s body was found on Thursday after she had been missing since Wednesday. Numerous flowers and a large, white plush teddy bear lay against a fence. “Why??? – Rest in Peace” and “We miss you” were written on pieces of paper and stones in front of the girl’s school.
A 20-year-old acquaintance of the girl is said to be responsible for the student’s death. According to the Kassel public prosecutor’s office and the North Hesse police headquarters, an arrest warrant was issued against him on Friday on strong suspicion of murder. The man is now in custody.
