According to the national weather authorities, temperatures of over 35 degrees were measured in the two Iberian states on Friday. In France, well above average temperatures of over 30 degrees were also expected in several regions for Sunday and Monday.

In several southern Spanish cities, temperatures exceeded 35 degrees on Friday afternoon, and according to forecasts, it will be hotter than 32 degrees in much of the country by Monday. According to the national weather agency Aemet, such values ​​are five to 15 degrees above average for the time of year.

In Portugal, the national weather service IPMA expects temperatures of over 30 degrees for a large part of the country from Friday and until Tuesday – with the exception of some coastal regions. IPMA spoke of values ​​five to eight degrees above average.
