Due to many construction sites and an arson attack in Hamburg, the railway’s punctuality fell to its lowest level this year in September. 58.4 percent of all ICE and IC trains reached their destination without major delays, as the railway announced. A train is considered to be on time if it is delayed by six minutes.

An arson attack on the railway infrastructure in Hamburg in the middle of the month led to severe restrictions, especially between the Hanseatic city and Berlin. A few days earlier, an excavator had damaged an overhead line in Munich. Long-distance and regional traffic at Munich Central Station had to be almost completely interrupted. There were also disruptions a few days ago following damage to the overhead line between Frankfurt and Mannheim.
