Tuesday, 9 June, France has recorded 87 deaths additional related to the Covid-19, 53 of them in hospitals, bringing to 29 296 the total number of deaths since the beginning of the epidemic, according to a balance sheet reported by the Directorate-general of Health (DGS). At the same time, the number of severe cases of Covid-19 requiring hospitalization in the intensive care unit continued its decrease and fell below 1 000, with 955 patients, or 69 less than the previous day.
the Four regions (Ile-de-France, Grand-est, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Hauts-de-France) group 74% of patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit, specifies the DGS. The peak in the icu had been reached at the beginning of April with more than 7 000 patients in serious condition (for a capacity in the intensive care unit of 5,000 beds before the crisis).

As regards the institutions, social and medico-social (including long-term care facilities), the balance sheet has increased with 34 new deaths since the last numbers in the date of 2 June, a total of 10 384 dead. Currently, there are 11 961 people are hospitalized in France for an infection Covid-19 (they were over 14, 000 a week ago) and it has 169 new admissions recorded in the last 24 hours, a figure that is also down.
