The members of the workforce of Eurocaja Rural and its Economic Group, more than 1,200 people in total, are summoned the week of May 16 to 21 at Finca Los Lavaderos de Rojas to participate in the ‘Desafío 2022’ Sports Games, which this year marks its eighteenth edition.
The purpose of this initiative is to promote teamwork and communication, reward effort and spirit of self-improvement, as well as positively reinforce the participants and serve as a meeting point for the entire workforce through sports entertainment and leisure activities.
As in previous years, around 1,200 people divided into 8 teams will participate in the ‘Challenge’, with a daily average of 240 participants.
On Saturday, May 21, Family Day will be held, coinciding with the Grand Final of the event, for which various entertainments are set up aimed at children, children and family members of employees, and where attendance is estimated at around 2,000 persons.
The program will open each day with the reception of participants and welcome to the corresponding teams. Throughout tomorrow different tests of ability, physical dexterity, mental agility and decision making will be held, to conclude with a brotherhood meal among all attendees.
The 2022 Challenge will have various novelties. The first is that normality is restored once the health crisis is normalized by being held in person. The two previous editions had to take place virtually and, although they did not lose their essence and managed to keep the values that this initiative promotes intact, the warmth and closeness of colleagues will be, in 2022, more intense than ever.
On the other hand, the venue for the event will be the Los Lavaderos de Rojas farm for the first time. A unique enclave for its incomparable setting, between the meanders of the Tagus and the city of Toledo, as well as for the uniqueness of its construction, spacious facilities with 10,000 square meters of trees and gardens where the activities will take place.
In previous years the ‘Challenge’ took place at the facilities of Bodegas OSBORNE in Malpica de Tajo, in Las Navillas, a hamlet in the town of Menasalbas, and at the Finca Dehesa Boyal de Los Yébenes.
All the tests are attended by monitors with extensive experience and highly qualified, belonging to ‘Anticiclón Deporte y Aventura’. In addition, security occupies a very important position in these days. During the days of competition, the organization has a complete health team available on site made up of a Mobile UVI, a doctor and a health technician to attend to any possible injury or illness of the participants and guests.
Likewise, solidarity always acquires a leading role in these days. Thus, the ‘kilo operation’ is traditionally carried out, a food collection campaign whose success exceeds all expectations every year. Throughout the week, employees receive their team’s jersey in exchange for a kilo of food. In the last edition, more than two thousand kilos of food were collected for families at risk of social exclusion. The entity, fully sensitive to the social situation with the greatest impact at all times, directs solidarity actions to those who most need it.
Eurocaja Rural has been organizing these corporate games since 2005 as part of its Human Resources Management Project. The event is designed in an inclusive way, to encourage participation and cooperation among all members of the Group. Another differentiating element is its celebration in a natural environment, outside the comfort of offices or usual places of work, for which a series of skills and behaviors are promoted among professionals that will be very useful in their daily work.
The ‘Challenge’ is one of the most important social activities organized by Eurocaja Rural with its professional staff. Every year they are eagerly awaited, but this year with greater anticipation for the illusion of reunion after two years of being held virtually due to the pandemic.
