The president of the Popular Party of Toledo, Carlos Velázquez, has denounced the disastrous management of public money by the PSOE governments and has given as an example “of the many scandalous cases that exist in Castilla-La Mancha”, the construction in La Nava de Ricomalillo of what should be a sports hall and which is still unfinished after more than a decade.
This has been highlighted in a visit to this municipality, in which he has been able to verify, together with the spokesman for the PP in the municipality, Apolonio Manzano, and the provincial deputy, José Ángel Pérez, the state in which this work is located, that It started in 2010 and has been abandoned until this year. Now a new grant has been received to resume it, “which we hope will not end up being nothing like all the money invested so far.”
«A construction that today, 12 years later, is unfinished; It is an example of that mismanagement that the Government of Castilla-La Mancha does with the money of all the Castilian-La Mancha people », he reiterated.
Velázquez has also drawn attention to the location of this infrastructure: «it is supposedly a covered sports court for the public school, but the educational center is almost a kilometer away, a circumstance that also adds to the confusion due to the different denominations that the project has received, which, sometimes, has been a pavilion and, others, a sports court, despite the fact that they are not the same”, he pointed out.
For his part, Apolonio Manzano has denounced the obstacles that have been put up by the administrations to find out the details and the investment that this work has entailed until now and has recalled the continuous requests for information that he has presented both to the Toledo Provincial Council, which He did not even respond to these requests, such as the city council, which has not allowed him to see the requested documentation.
«We have never understood what has been tried to hide, but the reality is that until now, between the Diputación, the Junta de Comunidades and the European Funds, this work has already received more than half a million euros in subsidies and is still unfinished; In addition, now the Diputación de Toledo has granted another almost 50,000 euros for this work, ”denounced the PP spokesman.
