The Montreal Alliance hired four players from the country on Friday, including three Quebecers, namely Samuel Cayo, Samuel Chaput and Élie Karojo.

The three men, as well as Ontarian Lewis Diankulu, will be available for the organization which will begin its training camp on Monday, in anticipation of its first season in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
A 6-foot-2 point guard, Cayo has played 12 games this season with the Citadins of the University of Quebec in Montreal. The Laval native averaged 11.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, in addition to making 41.6% of his shots, including 30% from the three-point line.
For his part, Chaput has played the last four seasons in the NCAA Premier League with the Monmouth University Hawks. The Longueuil athlete had his best season in 2019-20, maintaining averages of 5.2 points, 3.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 31 games.
Then, Karojo completed his studies at Collège Montmorency before joining Carleton University. In five games at Carleton, he averaged 3.0 points. The Montrealer also helped his squad win the U SPORTS national championship in 2019-20. This season, he played two games with the Ottawa Gee-Gee’s before injury sidelined him.
Finally, Diankulu played his college-level basketball at McCook Community College and Queen’s University. After graduating, the Canadian played with the Island Storm in the NBLC before joining the Warriors of Leicester, England. This season, in 13 games, he averaged 21.5 points and grabbed 11.8 rebounds per outing.
