The president of the Popular Party of the Valencian Community, Carlos Mazón, advocated this Tuesday for “an agreement, based on firm dialogue between the Government of Spain and the autonomous communities to solve the water problem.”

In these terms, the leader of the ‘popular’ has referred after participating in the concentration that farmers and irrigators from the province of Alicante, Murcia and Almería have carried out in the city of Alicante against the cut of the Tajo-Segura Transfer. In the concentration, in addition to several representatives of the PPCV, the president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras and the mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, have participated.

Carlos Mazón has assured that “we join seamlessly and as a single party to the irrigators and farmers and to the needs of the province of Alicante and the region of Murcia and Almería”.

“It is not a rally against anyone. It is not a concentration against our irrigation brothers and farmers from Castilla-La Mancha, we also defend them from deception, demagoguery and the division between Spaniards that the socialist government of Sánchez is promoting », he stated.

The president of the PPCV has highlighted that “in Spain there is water for everyone and we do not have to depend on it to rain so that we can all irrigate our fields. Solidarity is for everyone and always goes in a double direction».

Mazón has recalled that “we defend what in justice, environmentally, solidarity and territorially corresponds to us but we do not want anything that does not correspond to us” and has claimed “the necessary investments in Castilla-La Mancha that should be made and that the Government of Sanchez has not done. They are our irrigation brothers.

In this sense, Mazón has demanded that «someone will have to summon us all to a table because this water war that the PSOE is generating has to be fixed. It cannot be solved with lies, demagoguery or electoral calculations. I ask for dialogue based on solidarity between all the regions of Spain because water belongs to everyone.

He has also asked the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, “to be brave and to come here to defend the water that his land deserves and if it is necessary for him to confront his own party, President Sánchez, make him enter into reason, because declarations and half measures are not enough».

Thus, the president of the PPCV has affirmed that «sooner or later we will have to sit down, but from the strength of what is fair and what corresponds to us. Not everyone is here today and I wish they were. Puig has to lose his fear and defend with his head and his voice loud what this land needs.
