A generous sun illuminated, on this Wednesday, Disneyland Paris. The Amusement Park Foundation celebrated the 2022 Yellow Pieces operation, the collection of which ended on February 5, welcoming nearly 500 children and teenagers from all over France. Initially scheduled for January, this meeting could not then be held due to the health context.

“The children had sparkling eyes. They were in a magical environment, an atmosphere of magic, conducive to dreams. It is totally different from the hospital environment where it is more complicated, ”insisted Didier Deschamps, sponsor for the 4th consecutive year of the Yellow Pieces, operation in favor of hospitalized children of the Fondation Hôpitaux de Paris-Hôpitaux de France, chaired by the wife of President Emmanuel Macron, also present at Disneyland. “It is for them that we are fighting with Brigitte in order to improve their reception conditions in hospitals”.

The opportunity for the coach of the Blues to measure his great popularity. “The children were smiling. They are in their world, their universe. Disney characters are their heroes. It is a privilege to offer them and to share these moments with them. What kid wouldn’t be happy to be here. I appreciate these moments”, he continued on the eve of communicating his list of players selected for the four League of Nations matches in June. Always very available, the double world champion (player then coach) spent a good part of the day with the children, taking many selfies and attending shows with them.

Since the launch of the operation in 1989, the Yellow Pieces have made it possible to collect approximately 100 million euros, enough to build 70 “family houses” intended to bring families closer to the hospital, to fit out playrooms in the hospitals or improve the daily comfort of hospitalized children. In total, nearly 9,300 projects have thus been financed throughout the territory.
