The Provincial Maritime Service (SMP) of the Las Palmas Command has intercepted 1,983 kilos of hashish in the north of the island of Gran Canaria on board an 8-meter-long boat with 53 bales of hashish. The two crew members of the ship have been arrested.
The events occurred during the early hours of May 13 when the SMP patrol boat located an inflatable boat that was heading north of the island of Gran Canaria with two occupants inside.
The patrol boat crew immediately carried out the appropriate checks, detecting how this boat was intended for drug trafficking by detecting numerous bales of hashish inside, immediately proceeding to intercept it on the high seas and arrest its two occupants.
After the boarding, the boat and the detainees were transferred to the Agaete pier, proceeding to unload and weigh the drug, verifying that they were 53 bales of hashish that totaled 1,983 kilograms, leaving the detainees and the narcotic substance intervened to judicial disposition decreeing for these facts his entry into prison.
