The City Council of Alicante will adapt the Sergio Melgares park, in the PAU5 of Playa de San Juan, with an investment of 1.3 million euros and in this action the presence of two areas of free walking of pets for large and small animals stands out, as well as an agility circuit.
In addition, a running track with calisthenic elements, a large children’s play area and a pumptrak track for bicycles and skateboards are also planned.
The Councilor for Parks and Gardens, Manuel Villar, has highlighted that “the project is intended to provide the infrastructure required by a park that is characterized by being one of the sanctuaries for walking pets in the city, where the memorial tree with the ribbons of the missing animals, for which two free walking spaces are going to be set up, one for large dogs and the other for smaller ones, with an agility circuit, a stay area for their owners and a special wooden fence adapted to the environment”.
Villar explained that another of the novelties being worked on is aimed at running lovers, who will be able to enjoy a specially designed circuit with calisthenics elements to work on their fitness. “This is a unique space with trees, shades that make it ideal for running,” stressed the mayor, who added that the creation of a pumptrak track, for scooters, skateboards and bicycles, similar to the that is going to adapt in the Palmeral park.
