BARCELONA, 20 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The French cyclist Arnaud Démare (Groupama-FDJ) took this Friday the thirteenth stage of the Giro d’Italia, disputed between Sanremo and Cuneo over 150 kilometers, to almost seal his victory in regularity after celebrating his third stage in this ‘Pink Thing’ who is still leading the Spanish ‘Juanpe’ López (Trek-Segafredo).
Démare seems to have no rival in sprint finishes and, on this very hot day and in a demanding stage, he added his third partial victory in this Giro beating Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain-Victorious) and Mark Cavendish (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team).
In a stage without crashes despite the high speed in the final kilometers, full of hairpin bends and roundabouts already inside Cuneo, Démare triumphed in part thanks to the work of his team, who crashed at the last breath, 700 meters from the finish line, the break of the day made up of four runners.
