Caen (L2) goalkeeper Rémy Riou has signed a two-year contract with Lyon where he will occupy the position of N.3 goalkeeper, the Lyon club where he trained announced on Tuesday. Riou, 34, arrived at OL at the age of 7 and was part of the 1987 generation alongside Karim Benzema, Loïc Rémy and Anthony Mounier. He was French professional reserve champion in 2006.
After signing a professional contract with Lyon but without being able to play in a team, he left the Rhone club in 2007 for Auxerre, then in Ligue 1 (2007-2011, 52 matches), before continuing in Toulouse (2011-2012) , Nantes (2012-2017, Ligue 2 then Ligue 1) of which he was the captain (166 matches), Alanyaspor (Turkey, 2017-2018), Charleroi (Belgium, 2018-2019) and finally Caen (85 matches in L2) .
In the national team, he was European U17 champion with the France team and also played six times with the Espoirs.
