The programming of the XXX Classical Theater cycle ‘Toledo Siglo de Oro’ will bring to the stage of the Teatro de Rojas pieces by great authors such as Miguel de Cervantes, William Shakespeare and Molière, who make up this cycle and which will begin at the end of September and will be will last until January 2023.
The Councilor for Culture, Teo García, has informed this Wednesday of some of the works that make up this program and as the mayor has pointed out, the objective of this advance is to provide viewers with the titles that will be offered in the regional capital next season .
Among the shows that will be put on the stage of the Teatro de Rojas during the autumn-winter season are ‘El hospital de los locos’, ‘Noche de Reyes’, ‘Numancia’, ‘Elektra.25’, ‘El Avaro’, ‘ Life is a dream’, ‘The lame devil’ and ‘The love in love’, among others.
The cycle will begin with the premiere of ‘El hospital de los locos’ by Toledo playwright José Valdivieso and the Fundación Siglo de Oro company, which can be seen at the municipal coliseum on September 30 and October 1.
On October 15, Miguel de Cervantes’ Rojas ‘Numancia’ will be staged, co-produced by the Nao D Amores Company and the National Classical Theater Company, directed by Ana Zamora.
On the 28th and 29th it will be the turn of ‘Twelfth Night’ by the playwright William Shakespeare, directed by Helena Pimienta and co-produced by the Spanish Theater and UR Theatre.
‘El diablo cojuelo’ by Vélez de Guevara, a co-production of the Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico and Velvet Events, directed by Ester Nadal and dramatized by Juan Mayorga, will arrive on November 11.
Likewise, on November 25, the Atalaya-TNT Company will represent Florián Recio’s ‘Elektra.25’, and on the 26th, Molière’s ‘El avaro’, both directed by Ricardo Iniesta.
In this same month and within the educational program ‘Toledo Educa’, the institutes of the regional capital will be able to enjoy ‘Life is a dream’ by Calderón de la Barca, produced by La Folía.
Finally, and in the absence of other titles to be confirmed, on December 16 the MIC Producciones Company will stage Lope de Vega’s ‘El amoramorado’, under the direction of Borja Rodríguez.
