Bernie Ecclestone, former director of Formula 1, has been arrested and later released for possession of weapons this Wednesday in Brazil, when the Briton was preparing to take a private flight to Switzerland. According to South American media, the security of the Viracopos international airport, in the state of Sao Paulo, detected a 32-caliber pistol when the former president passed his belongings through x-rays. The Brazilian media O Globo highlights that the weapon was not loaded or had ammunition, and that Ecclestone declared that he did not know that the object was among his luggage. After posting bail, he has been released and has continued his journey back to Europe.
