The 35th 1,000 voice festival in Perigord was cancelled in 2020 and postponed from October 2021 to May. It was organized by the Diapason d’argent Association. This year, it returned to its spring routines at the Theatre de Perigueux on Saturday, May 28. “This edition was placed in the sign of a normal return after two years of Covid-19”, was to be confirmed by Bertrand Tesniere, president of the association.
Five Perigord ensembles, In Unison from Bassillac and Les P’tits Filous, for children from Bassillac and Le Petit Choeur, from Tourtoirac were followed by a musical marathon, punctuated with the contributions of crooner Patrick Braffy. Bertrand Tesniere says that the festival brings together bands from very different generations. It is possible to sweep away different musical styles by the alternation of generations.
With a new president, the festival’s next edition will be held June 10, 2023. Bertrand Tesniere, after 36 years of loyal and good service, has decided to hand Celine Pommier his vice-president. Jean-Yves Rouline will continue to be his vice-president.
